History

Born beneath the emerald canopy of the Raktika Greatwood, Charlotte’s life began in mystery. No one knew her true parents, nor from where they came — only that she was found as an infant, wrapped in faded cloth and left at the roots of an ancient tree. Fate took pity on her that day, for a kind-hearted Viera couple discovered the child and took her in as their own.For a time, her life was gentle and quiet. She grew among the whispering trees, learning to read the forest’s moods — when the air would turn heavy with rain, when the beasts stirred, when the spirits sang. Yet tragedy came early. When Charlotte was still young, her adoptive mother disappeared without a word, leaving only a sense of emptiness in her wake. From then on, Charlotte was raised only by her father, Heya, a skilled hunter who taught her how to track, move silently, and respect the laws of the Greatwood. As Charlotte grew, she began to study under several Raktikan teachers who specialized in the forest’s crafts and traditions. Though she never traveled to distant cities like Sharlayan, the Greatwood itself became her academy. The wise matriarchs of her village taught her weaving, cooking, and herbal alchemy, while the scholars of Fanow and Slitherbough shared with her the lore of the land and the flow of aether that pulsed beneath its roots. Under Wyrtus’s guidance and the forest’s embrace, Charlotte learned both intellect and instinct — the perfect balance between scholar and wanderer.Yet even with her hands and mind constantly at work, a quiet yearning lived within her heart — a call to discover her origins, and to understand why her mother had left. That restlessness eventually drew her beyond the Greatwood’s borders, where her story would take a new turn. After completing her studies, Charlotte began to wander — traveling across Eorzea to learn from its people and rediscover her roots. It was during one such journey, passing through the verdant woods near Gridania, that fate intervened once again. She met him. A guy with some kind of "Legends" title above his head. His name? Sayo Aisaka. A skilled craftsman, fisherman, hunter and adventurer, admired Charlotte’s gentle wisdom and her unyielding curiosity. In turn, she found in him the warmth and stability she had long thought lost. Their connection grew with each passing moon — forged through shared travels, laughter, and the mutual understanding of two souls who had both endured solitude. Their meeting was not marked by grand battles or cosmic destiny, but by a simple moment powerful enough to change everything. With complementary spirits, they walk together through the world, balancing reason and emotion, curiosity and stability. Over time, their companionship turned to love and loyalty, and in a simple ceremony beneath the stars of the Twelveswood, Charlotte and Sayo pledged their lives to one another. Two wanderers who became each other’s home. And even though her travels take her far from her Raktika's home, she often whispers to herself the words her father once spoke:  “The Woods will always know your name, even when you have forgotten it.”
